One Prelude and Fugue from Bach's  The Well-Tempered Clavier or One piece from Three-Part Inventions

One or more freely selected pieces

Group B: Open Class (Professional Group- High School)

USA Divisional Final Round

One fast movement from a classical sonata (by Haydn, Mozart, or Beethoven- Op.57 and earlier)

Group C: Under 8 Years Old (Born After December 15th, 2017)

Grand Prize winners from Groups A and B will be eligible for admission to the Open Class of the Singapore International Young Pianist Competition.

First Prize and Second Prize winners from Groups C–F will be invited to participate in the Singapore International Young Pianist Competition.

Special Awards will be presented in recognition of outstanding performances of works by the following composers

Johann Sebastian Bach 

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart 

Frédéric Chopin

Preliminary Round Application Fee: 50$ (Required for all applicants)

Group A: Open Class (Professional Group- Middle School) 100$

Group C: Under 8 Years Old (Born After December 15th, 2017) 60$

Group D: 9 to 12 Years Old (Born After December 15th, 2013) 70$

Preliminary round result will be announced July 24, 2026, Finalists will advance to the final round of competition at Falcetti Performance Hall in Newton, MA. 

Competition recordings will be accepted from finalists who are unable to travel to Massachusetts.
